Connect Empower Retirement to Claude

Ask Claude about your real
Empower Retirement accounts — read-only.

Ask Claude about your Empower Retirement 401(k) and holdings — read-only. Ledgerwire connects Empower Retirement to Claude (or Cursor, Claude Desktop, any MCP client) through your bank's own secure sign-in. It can never move money, and it keeps no copy of your data.

Get started free

  1. 1 · Add
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Enter the name Ledgerwire and the MCP URL https://ledgerwire.io/mcp, then authorize.
  2. 2 · Sign in
Sign in to Ledgerwire (free, passwordless magic link), then connect Empower Retirement through its own secure sign-in window. Your credentials go to Empower Retirement, never to us.
  3. 3 · Ask
Ask Claude anything about your Empower Retirement accounts. Answers are fetched on demand and discarded.
“…”
“What is my Empower Retirement 401(k) worth right now?”
“…”
“What funds am I holding in my Empower Retirement account?”
“…”
“How is my retirement account allocated?”

Retirement account balances, and holdings/positions where your plan reports them through the Finicity network. A position with no reported value shows as "not reported" rather than $0 — your totals stay honest. You sign in through Empower’s secure flow; Ledgerwire never sees your credentials.

Coverage depends on your bank: some institutions report categories, APR, or holdings and some don't. A missing field always comes back as “not reported”, never a fake $0, and bank data lags posting by a few days. See the FAQ for the full coverage story.

Can't move money
There is no transfer, payment, or account-change tool — the capability doesn't exist in the product.
Scoped, revocable access
claude.ai authorizes with OAuth 2.1; other clients use a scoped token — both read-only and revocable in one click. No long-lived shared key.
Nothing stored
Every read is fetched on demand and discarded; your transactions and balances are never written to our database. More on the Trust Center and security page.
Does Claude connect directly to Empower Retirement?
No — Claude has no native Empower Retirement integration. Ledgerwire is the bridge: a hosted, read-only MCP connector. You add https://ledgerwire.io/mcp to Claude once, connect Empower Retirement through the bank's own sign-in, and Claude can then read your accounts — nothing more.
Can Claude move money or place trades in my Empower Retirement account?
No. Ledgerwire is read-only by architecture — there is no transfer, payment, trading, or account-change tool anywhere in the product. Claude can read your Empower Retirement balances, positions, and history, and nothing else.
Does Ledgerwire store my Empower Retirement transactions?
No. Every answer is fetched on demand when you ask and then discarded. Your transactions and balances are never written to Ledgerwire's database, and your Empower Retirement login is never seen by Ledgerwire — you sign in through your bank's own secure window.
