Not another budgeting app — a read-only connector for Claude.
Ledgerwire connects your bank, card, loan, and brokerage accounts to Claude, read-only, so you can ask questions about real numbers. It is not a budgeting app: no dashboard, no envelopes, no bill negotiation, no categorization engine of its own, and nothing that can move money. US institutions only, through Finicity. If you came here looking for a replacement for an app, start with the write-ups below — each says where the app still wins.
Looking for an alternative to…
Mint is gone; Ledgerwire is not a replacement dashboard but a read-only bank connection you ask Claude about.
Rocket Money finds and cancels subscriptions for a cut of the savings; Ledgerwire can find them and cannot cancel anything.
YNAB is a strict zero-based method with daily check-ins; Ledgerwire has no envelopes, so Claude builds the budget view you ask for.
Monarch is a polished dashboard with household sharing, which Ledgerwire does not replace; it answers questions instead of showing screens.
Era can act on your accounts and remembers your goals across assistants; Ledgerwire can only ever read.
OpenBudget syncs categorized transactions to a spreadsheet; Ledgerwire keeps no copy of your transactions and only answers questions.
Same read-only data either way; the difference is how each assistant lets you attach a connector.

Questions
Is Ledgerwire a budgeting app?
No. Ledgerwire is a read-only connector that lets Claude read your bank, card, loan, and brokerage accounts. It has no dashboard, no budget screens, no categorization engine of its own, and no tool that can move money. You ask questions; Claude answers from your real data.
Can Ledgerwire replace Mint or YNAB?
Partly, and honestly not the parts those apps do best. A Mint-style dashboard or a YNAB-style envelope budget is a fixed screen maintained by the app; with Ledgerwire you ask Claude for the view you want and it builds it on demand from your transactions. What does not carry over: a shared household budget, years of hand-categorized history, and an app to open. Each write-up on this page says which of those you would give up.
Which AI assistants work with Ledgerwire?
Claude is the documented path — claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and Claude Code — through a remote MCP connector with OAuth 2.1 and nothing to paste. Any MCP client that supports remote connectors with OAuth can use the same endpoint, but Claude is what Ledgerwire tests and supports.
