Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Ledgerwire is a read-only connector that lets the AI assistants you already use (such as Claude) answer questions about your own financial accounts. This policy explains what we collect, what we process only transiently, and what we do with it. It is operated by Ledgerwire LLC, Oak Park, Illinois.

1. Operational information we collect

2. Financial data we process transiently but do not retain

When you make an authorized request, Ledgerwire temporarily processes the financial information required to answer it, which may include accounts, balances, transactions, liabilities, and investment holdings. Ledgerwire retrieves the latest data made available through the connected financial-data network when an authorized request is made, and returns the result to the AI client you connected. Ledgerwire does not write this financial information to its application database or retain it after the request is completed. Service logs are designed to exclude transaction contents, balances, account numbers, raw authorization credentials, and other financial-response data. Financial institutions may update the underlying data on a delayed or batch basis, so recent activity can lag.

3. Your bank login credentials

You enter authentication information only within your financial institution’s or the aggregator’s secure connection flow. Ledgerwire does not receive or store your bank username or password.

4. Analytics, cookies, and what we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal information; use advertising networks, advertising pixels, or targeted advertising; or buy data from marketing partners, data brokers, or intent-data providers. The only third-party analytics we use is Plausible — cookieless and aggregate, on our public marketing pages only. On those same public pages we set one first-party cookie to remember how you first reached us (basic sign-up attribution). No analytics run on the authenticated app or any page showing your financial data, and Plausible never receives your financial data. We do not collect your precise or approximate location.

5. How we use it

To provide the service (authenticate you, operate your account, and answer your assistant’s authorized requests), to process your subscription, to secure and debug the service, and to send you service and security communications. Where GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you; our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service; and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Service providers we share with

We share the limited information above only with the service providers required to run the service — under contractual terms appropriate to the services they perform — and only for the stated purpose. The current, authoritative list is at ledgerwire.io/subprocessors. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service. We do not share your data for advertising.

7. Third-party AI clients

When Ledgerwire returns financial information to an AI client you connect (such as Claude), that client may retain the prompt, response, or conversation according to its own account settings and privacy practices. Ledgerwire does not control deletion or model-training settings within third-party AI products. Review your AI client’s settings to manage what it keeps.

8. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Encrypted backups are retained for up to 24 hours and then expire according to our backup-retention process. Operational logs are retained only as long as needed to operate, secure, and debug the service and to prevent abuse, after which they are deleted or aggregated. We generally complete deletion requests within 30 days, except for information we must retain for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, or dispute-resolution purposes; residual encrypted backup copies expire according to our backup-retention process. Because we do not retain your financial transaction or account data, there is no financial history for us to keep.

9. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and (where GDPR or UK GDPR applies) portability and restriction of processing. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the rights to know, delete, and correct their information and to opt out of sale or sharing — and because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, Ledgerwire does not currently offer a sale or advertising-sharing opt-out. To exercise a right, email support@ledgerwire.io; we respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising it.

10. Deleting your account

Email support@ledgerwire.io to delete your account. This (a) revokes your Ledgerwire access, (b) deletes your aggregator profile and revokes your institution connection, and (c) deletes your Ledgerwire account records (subject to the retention exceptions in section 8). Stripe retains billing and tax records under its own obligations. Deleting your Ledgerwire account does not delete financial information or conversation history previously sent to an AI client; those records are governed by that client’s settings and policies. (Self-serve deletion is on our roadmap.)

11. Security

Access is read-only by architecture; connection tokens are encrypted at rest and issued credentials are hashed. See ledgerwire.io/security and ledgerwire.io/trust, including our current SOC 2 status.

12. Children

Ledgerwire is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18.

13. Changes

We will update this policy as the service evolves and note the “last updated” date above; material changes will be communicated by email to active users.
